Costa Rican Wedding

My friend Lauren recently got married in Costa Rica. I personally think this looks like the most fun wedding and was super sad to not be able to attend!

I was so inspired that I created a save the date invitation based on the wedding for Minted's "Mark Your Calendar's" Save the Date Challenge. I was thrilled that the design placed 16th out of 833 entries and is also currently in the running for the "Best of the Best 2012" Challenge!

A Fifth Birthday Party

I had so much fun designing my daughter's fifth birthday invitation. I can't believe I've never done her invitations myself before. Five felt like a big milestone, so I guess I pulled out all the stops—personally designed birthday invitation, 11 kids at the party and a bounce house location (okay, maybe not ALL the stops—no farm animals, no circus performers—but the fact that I actually planned an honest to goodness party for her was big for me)! I didn't want to use the typical "bounce house theme," so I focused on the birthday girl herself and created a sort of caricature of her. I'm pretty sure everyone had a great time and the party occurrred without any huge missteps. We'll have to see what  six brings next year.....
